Inspired by an abandoned car

An abandoned car I saw near my house

This is the scene that inspired me to write WHEEL SPIN. I came across it when I was out for a walk very close to my home. There was obviously a story behind it, but I would probably never be able to find out what it was, so I made up my own.

Add in a new character, hapless but loveable ex-con, Birdie, and the story came together nicely. And Birdie is still one of my favourite characters.
